Careers and Colleges and Scholarships - OH MY!
Share
In a classical film produced in 1939, a young lady on a challenging journey (let's call her Dorothy) finds herself in the middle of the forest chanting the words "lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" And, yes, there were also flying monkeys and angry apple trees nearby.

College-bound student-athletes are in a similar situation. They are standing in the middle of their living rooms mumbling the words "careers and colleges and scholarships, oh my!" And, yes, there are also nervous, cost-conscious parents nearby.

Be resourceful while choosing the path to reach your goal (just like Dorothy was). Student-athletes might consider working with a sports consultant to market their athletic ability to the right set of college coaches, in hopes of receiving scholarship money. In combination, learn your true career interests toward choosing a career and college major at one of the colleges being considered for sports.

This is a win-win-win situation that gives strong vision to the working world, helps with the cost of education, and allows the student-athlete to experience sports at the next level beyond high school.

Ever wonder how Dorothy knew that lions and tigers and bears are all sports teams? Things that make you go hmmmm!
