PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Analyst Real Estate undertakes the basic tasks associated with the region's responsibilities. Negotiating and coordinating fixed fee and some revenue agreement types. Also performs shared administrative tasks for the team, including document control and shared inboxes.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Facilitates the third-party use of non-surplus, underutilized properties, engaging with multiple internal stakeholders to verify surplus status and ensure proposed use does not negatively impact railroad operations
  • Negotiates real estate agreements to ensure highest returns while minimizing liability to the company, including agreements governing access and temporary use

  • Assists real property aspects of CP projects by providing subject matter expertise on acquisitions, development, and disposition of real property interests
  • Research historical agreements, property ownership, and title status for parcels utilizing a variety of historical and modern resources
  • Administrative tasks related to real estate agreements, including maintaining document management processes and managing inflow of inquiries for the region

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Communicates with both internal and external stakeholders, able to convey and negotiate certain terms of legal agreements up to a limited impact
  • Must be able to quickly and effectively read and interpret legal documents with basic comprehension
  • Time management and organization skills are necessary

Management Conductor Program:
