Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issues tools, tool kits, and equipment to workers. Maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
  • Reorders lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of insert types and tooling used in machining operations. Makes recommendations for appropriate and cost effective tooling options.
  • Prepares periodic inventory and maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment. Requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects tools and equipment for defects or wear and reports concerns to supervisors.
  • Keeps tool storage area sufficiently stocked, well organized, and efficient.
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
  • Sharpens used drill bits to usable specifications.
  • Establishes guidelines for jobs and tasks that need to be performed by the second shift attendant.
  • Executes continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Proceeds under general supervision.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern tool crib operations.
  • Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.
  • Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • Meets attendance policy requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read English, and understand sketches, routings, product specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Requires judgment to plan and perform work, and make decisions as to the sequence of processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
