As a Systems Administrator in our Madison office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting assigned technology solutions, including cloud, network, communication, security and file server systems, and office and enterprise applications.

Qualifications

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The following job functions are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help, to the extent of their abilities, in carrying out whatever work is required to deliver a quality product within budget and on schedule.

    Maintains and administers assigned technology infrastructure, hardware and software.
  • Installs operating system software, patches, and upgrades
  • Configures, optimizes, and monitors operating system software and application software
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, and networking issues
  • Administers user, server, security, and file systems.
  • Performs system backups and recovery
  • Conducts server builds
  • Conducts cloud deployments
  • Follows effective, appropriate agile and project management processes
  • Maintains detailed process, technical, and end user documentation, and training material for assigned systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical degree; or commensurate experience.
  • Five years of experience, including two years of related IT experience in the professional services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related products (both commercial and open source), LAN protocols, WAN protocols, desktop/laptop operating systems, standard office applications, backup and security systems, hardware and server component technologies, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with database administration, application development, scripting, security analysis, business continuity, and standards and policies development.
  • Experience with Infrastructure Security or Networking systems.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, IaaS, and PaaS in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with DevOps.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, git, etc.).

  • Ability to work independently on large projects or multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment, including carrying out appropriate follow-through with others, teaching and delegating work, and giving and receiving constructive feedback. Communicates well with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize to effectively handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures without creating workflow problems for others. Generally, works on multiple projects/activities in a given time period.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to work to meet deadlines as required by client demands.
  • Working at a computer for several hours at a time.
  • Attending meetings with team members and other consultants both on and off-site.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Performing typical office activities.
