JOB OVERVIEW

Responsibilities include verifying orders at point of receipt and shipment while processing and documenting as required through the ERP system. This includes counting, labeling, packaging, general inspections and all other functions of shipping and receiving. This is done while assuring that all proper safety and shipping practices and procedures are followed.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow safe manufacturing and material handling practices
  • Communicate material/inventory discrepancies
  • Use computer system for shipping, receiving, and inventory purposes
  • Use forklift or other powered industrial equipment to move product around the work area
  • Maintain necessary clerical records pertinent to the functions of the job
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Communicate and work well with other departments and team members regarding accurate and timely completion of projects
  • Identify problems, develop alternative solutions and gather/present information toward implementing alternative actions
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to undertake increased responsibility
  • Exhibit ability to prioritize and plan work activities, manage time efficiently and meet objectives to complete projects
  • Demonstrate teamwork by working well with others, offering assistance and responding positively to constructive feedback
  • Work outside in all types of weather elements and conditions
  • Encourage company initiatives such as; safety, LEAN manufacturing practices, and 6S
  • Verifies product to paperwork
  • Determines needs for packaging
  • Determines how product is shipped per company shipping standard
  • Fills out corresponding paperwork to accompany shipment
  • Obtain weights and dimensions of products
  • Other job duties as assigned per the needs of production

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Experience with a Windows-based computer system
  • Ability to operate a forklift in conjunction with all safety rules and regulations (where applicable)
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as sales orders, slips, inventory records, and receiving documents
  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • 1-3 years' experience
  • Experience with an ERP such as Syteline or CSI
  • Good references with excellent work attendance and attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Highly organized
  • Deadline orientated
  • Strong 6S background with sound material flow practices
  • Mathematical and analytical skills, along with a keen sense of attention to detail
