Position Description:

As an Education Program Coordinator II in the Department of Surgery you will support the development and implementation of continuing medical education programs within the Division of Education, Department of Surgery.Prepare, organize, and design materials for annual conferences, lectures, and symposiums.Establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and program directors.

Primary Functions

  • Provide independent coordination of educational programs. Prepare agendas for planning meetings and coordinate the logistics of annual lectures and divisional symposia. Ensure that events are publicized both internally and externally.
  • Support the Department Chair, Vice Chair of Strategic Development, and other divisional leaders in the development and design of educational content, including marketing and social media content, conference materials, and post-event summaries and evaluations.
  • Design flyers, brochures, e-newsletters, and social media graphics using Canva and Adobe Suite.
  • Coordinate, plan, and organize the Department of Surgery Annual Report. Collaborate with departmental contacts to gather information, develop graphics, schedule photography sessions, and publish the final report.
  • Create, track, and distribute departmental documents including distribution lists, post cards, attendance reports, and donor lists using MS Office.
  • Maintain program budgets, track revenue and expenses for departmental events, and request reimbursement as needed.
  • Assist leaders, faculty, staff, and learners by providing information, support, and problem-solving assistance.
  • Provide support for off-site educational events as required.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Exceptional communication abilities and proficiency in written correspondence.
  • Intermediate experience using Canva and Adobe Suite design tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to exercise technical and business knowledge, consult with others, use basic project management methodologies, and perform with a high degree of self-awareness when working with leadership teams across the institution.

Position Requirements:

Appropriate experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Required Experience: 3 years

Preferred Experience: 5 years
