Position Title: Custodial Services Supervisor

Employment Type: Full time, Academic Staff, Exempt

Reports To:TheCustodial Services Supervisorwill report to theChief Facilities Officer.

Pay Range: $52,000 - $72,000


Essential Job Functions

The Custodial Services Supervisor provides direct supervision to all custodial teams working in state buildings on a 24-hour basis. The work responsibilities of this position include comprehensive planning, development, assigning and directing a variety of programs pertaining to the activities of the custodial staff team. These programs will include widely diversified areas of safety training, budget development and management, product testing, equipment testing and preventative maintenance of custodial equipment. The Custodial Services Supervisor also directs campus set-ups for events. This position reports to the Chief Facilities Officer.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Identifies work unit resource needs, manages workflow components, schedules logistics and secures resources for the completion of established projects by internal and external entities
  • Implements the use of and provides training for new supplies/equipment to ensure adequate utilization
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Develops, implements, and schedules operational work plans of staff for one or multiple projects or work units
  • Identifies, develops and implements facility emergency and hazardous response policies and procedures to align with institutional safety rules and regulations

Qualifications

Key Qualifications:

  • Education - H.S. Diploma Preferred
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with custodial services in an educational environment, conferences and event management, and experience working within a student living environment.

The Facilities Management Department is a key part of the University that ensures the campus roads are clean, that utilities like water and electricity are operating effectively and efficiently, and that our campus is clean and beautiful. The work environment for this position is predominantly indoors. Exposure to dust, odors, moving mechanical parts and noise is common.
