Gundersen Health System is looking to add a Purchasing Assistant to our team in West Salem, Wisconsin.

What You'll Do:

You will be responsible for processing and expediting orders pertaining to general and specialized medical supplies, clinical supplies, medical equipment, and services.

What's Available:

  • Full time, 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)

  • Schedule primarily Monday- Friday 7:00-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:00pm

  • Location: Must be within driving distance to our location in West Salem, WI

  • After training there is a potential to have a hybrid schedule - Will allow 1-2 days a week off-site

  • Starting pay of $20.22/hr and up, based on your relevant years of experience

Job Description:

The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Manager, Sr. Buyers and Category Managers to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility.

2. Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.

3. Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management.

4. Supports the Sr Buyers to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate.

5. Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure.

6. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalency

DESIRED

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or two-year or higher education in related field

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

2 years or more experience in supply chain or related field

DESIRED

6 months or more experience in Lawson/Infor software
