About The Opportunity

Assist and support the Sheeter Operator in keeping the sheeter running efficiently. The primary responsibility of the Sheeter-Helper is to assist the Sheeter Operator with all responsibilities in producing and staging of press ready sheets for the presses. Sheeter Helper is responsible for having all materials staged for operation of sheeter and in pressroom.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety working within the Company Safety Vision
  • Understand job ticket information and any other special customer requirements
  • Prepare for upcoming jobs by staging proper materials for the Sheeter and presses
  • Assist with set up the Sheeter and keep it running properly
  • Responsible for assisting on Sheeter Preventive Maintenance
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
  • Enter accurate job reporting data in SAP system
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area
  • Ability to act as a backup Sheeter Operator in all functions of the Sheeter position
  • Cover for vacations on the Sheeter
  • Must be qualified to operate lift truck and baler equipment
  • Band and wrap pallets when needed
  • Return left over stock to warehouse and update inventory in SAP
  • Unload and load trucks as necessary
  • Understand department communication and schedules
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired

  • Must have good color perception
  • Flexibility is required - assignments and shifts may change as workload changes

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand up to 8-12 hours
  • Must be able to use hands for grasping sheets of paper product
  • Must be able to push & pull skids of product using pallet jack frequently during shift
  • Must be able to reach above shoulder height at times to remove items from shelving units
  • Must be able to lift 85 lbs. maximum
  • Frequent bending, lifting, walking and climbing stairs of press
