We are hiring a OB/GYN Physician at our Lisbon Avenue Health Center in Milwaukee, WI. This is a full-time position and will work in our Women's Health department. This position does not require working late nights, weekends, or holidays in the clinic setting. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and non-profit organization, you may also be eligible for student loan forgiveness.

Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Job Summary

The OB/GYN physician provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients at Progressive Community Health Centers (PCHC) and offers delivery and surgical services at a local health system. Works in an integrated fashion with a variety of team members; supports and collaborates with Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife roles. Fosters whole person and whole family care in a multispecialty group.


Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to women through the childbearing years. Such care includes education and emotional support, as well as management of physical care on an outpatient basis

  2. Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals. Arrange for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the organization for patients of the clinic.

  3. Evaluate patients, based on medical training and approved policies and procedures, to determine the medical condition of the patient, through the performance of physical examinations, routine GYN exams including pap smears, pelvic and breast exams, as well as routine prenatal exams, thereby, establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan.

  4. Perform such clinical procedures and deliveries for patient's benefit, which are within scope and skill of provider and are economically feasible.

  5. Counsel patients on family planning and contraception.

  6. Conduct appropriate post-partum visits/exams on patients who have had a delivery.

  7. Obtain, record, and evaluate an OB/GYN history.

  8. Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments, based upon clinic protocols.

  9. Provide patients with the appropriate education to promote good prenatal care and health care in general.

  10. Assist with presentation of educational programs to patients, community groups, clinic staff and other groups as requested.


EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE


Required Qualifications:

  1. Doctoral degree (MD or DO) and a graduate from an accredited School of Medicine and Residency Program.
  2. Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN specialty
  3. Currently licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin.
  4. Current DEA license

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in an ambulatory OB/GYN practice model working collaboratively with advanced practice providers or midwives.
  2. Prior work experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center with a diverse patient population
