Role Snapshot

This member will ensure accurate and timely processing of payment runs, including payment reconciliations and internal and external reporting. In addition to:

  • Complete daily payment processing accurately and timely in accordance with required contractual and government deadlines.
  • Complete daily and monthly reconciliations.
  • Answer internal and external customer inquiries timely and accurately.
  • Prepare reports required by department, contracting partners, auditors, and government agency.
  • Reconcile returned funds on claims refund system to deposits daily and month end.
  • Process stop-payment requests.
  • Process positive pay exceptions and Automated Clearing House (ACH) rejections.
  • Process Overseas claim payments by reviewing daily check register, determine foreign currency payments, and prepare daily foreign currency draft orders.
  • Process provider requests for international ACH or wire payments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions
  • High school diploma and demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles obtained from educational coursework or related accounting experience
  • 2 or more years in accounting with ability to perform accounting functions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Accounting
  • Experience with suggesting and implementing process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented

Additional Information

  • Start Date: Monday, April 29th, 2024
  • Starting Base Salary: $18/hour
  • Training Location/Schedule:
    • Onsite Training - First 8 weeks Monday-Friday. 6:00-2:30pm CST
    • All Onsite training will take place at the WPS Corporate Center Building (1717 W. Broadway) in Madison, WI
  • Scheduled Shift:
    • Hybrid: Must come into the Broadway building three (3) days a week
    • Payment Run Work: In office: 6am - 6pm in office - 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday - Firm start time of 6am
    • Non-Payment Run Work- Remote: 8-hours shifts Monday-Friday between 7am-7pm CST. Latest start is 9am unless given an exception by your supervisor
  • Work Location: Hybrid and onsite options are available. Once training is complete there is an option to work either Hybrid or Onsite at the WPS Corporate Center Building (1717 W. Broadway. Please note that the assigned office for this position is in Madison, WI and remote employees may be required to work at this location at times.
