The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible to ensure guests are served to the hotel's standard in the Restaurant, Cafe, and Crow's Nest. Display highest standards of hospitality and welcome, demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas. Takes orders for, serves (where applicable, prepares) food and beverages to guests as per the hotel's standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
This position reports to the Restaurant Manager, retains relationships with peers and all other departments within the hotel/restaurant, maintains relationships with current and prospective guests.
As Supervisor on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
  • Oversee the dining area, supervises food and beverage service staff in accordance with operating policies.
  • Creates a positive team atmosphere among Team Members. Assists with coaching team on how to exceed guest expectations.
  • Understands building capability through cross training.
  • Treats all Team Members fairly and with respect.
  • Sets high standards for appropriate team behavior on shift.
  • Works with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures.
  • Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day.
  • Is capable of handling upset customers with a friendly/calm attitude.
  • Ensures product quality and great service.
  • Shows enthusiasm about guests within the restaurant.
  • Effectively forecasts restaurant needs.
  • Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change.
  • Delegates and follows-up effectively.
  • Taking ownership of issues or tasks and also give detail update to the Restaurant Manager and the Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Seeks, listens and responds to guest feedback.
  • Assists with effectively identifying and resolving restaurant problems through reports.
  • Proficiency in using computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
  • Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) software, inventory software, restaurant guest satisfactory tracking software etc.
  • Assists in planning regular and special event menus.
The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:
* Previous experience in similar role.
* Ability to work flexible hours.
* Knowledgeable in preparing drinks.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Dependability and regular attendance.
* Must be willing to learn work in other areas of the hotel to assist as needed.
* Must have or be able to obtain food safety handling certificate.
* Ability to use point of service software.
