POSITION(S) THAT REPORT TO YOU: Scientific Programs Coordinator 
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week) 
 
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is a non-profit medical professional association of influential clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals from around the world dedicated to improving the care of patients with movement disorders through education and research.
 
Reporting to the Director of Scientific Programs, the Senior Scientific Programs Manager is responsible for providing high-level management and oversight for the MDS Clinical Outcome Assessments (COA) Program (the “Program”) activities and other MDS initiatives as needed. Position maintains high level of responsibility, exercising discretion and sound independent judgment in collaborating with MDS leadership, external contacts, and performing assigned tasks. Ideal candidate will have impeccable communication skills, a high attention to detail, and the ability to remain organized and adaptable to changing needs. This position supervises the Scientific Programs Coordinator. 
 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week):
  • Oversee and develop direction for identified Program activities in collaboration with the Director of Scientific Programs as assigned, including but not limited to, COA translation programs, electronic development initiatives, and assessment development activities.
  • Supervise the MDS Scientific Programs Coordinator ensuring that he/she is aware of all job responsibilities and can comply with all MDS and EDI performance standards.
  • Manage COA Program activities including but not limited to, permission requests, committee duties, program materials, and new scale development activities.
  • Prepare intellectual property and scale licensing contracts, addenda, amendments, and study specific assignments.
  • Review, negotiate, and analyze contract terms and conditions in keeping with MDS requirements, recommendations from MDS lawyers, industry best practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain, revise and implement processes pertaining to the MDS COA Program as needed, maintain and update program templates, protocols, inventory, and manage contractual obligations.
  • Oversee and support team members with Program related tasks including guidance on recommended translation processes and electronic development build procedures.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets for assigned projects.
  • Manage relationships with leadership, external sponsors, scale requestors, and other contacts in a professional manner; provide information on institutional policies and procedures.
  • Function as a staff liaison for committees, task forces, study groups or other workgroups as needed; coordinate meetings, communications, minutes, agendas, presentations, and other materials.
  • Develop and review Program related materials with high attention to detail.
  • Create and prepare Program reports and draft materials for the MDS Officers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: 
  • Some travel, including international, may be required.
  • Some early morning/evening work may be required.
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Basic sciences background and familiarity with agreements and legal terminology preferred.
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Oral, written, organizational and proofreading skills essential. 
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (example - lifting, packaging, etc.):
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds may be required. 
 
*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
