Position Summary
The role of the Project Manager is to support client initiatives in creating prototype and production parts by aligning project requirements with company profitability. This position will have proficient knowledge of prototyping processes in order to understand client expectations and coordinate work within several departments. The ability to develop strong relationships, communicate effectively, and keep work organized will be crucial for success. This position will operate in a fast paced, demanding, yet rewarding environment.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Prototek maintains International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliant operations in United States based facilities. This position is subject to ITAR which requires U.S. Person status. Position Summary
The role of the Project Manager is to support client initiatives in creating prototype and production parts by aligning project requirements with company profitability. This position will have proficient knowledge of prototyping processes in order to understand client expectations and coordinate work within several departments. The ability to develop strong relationships, communicate effectively, and keep work organized will be crucial for success. This position will operate in a fast paced, demanding, yet rewarding environment.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as clients' main point of contact for prototyping and production needs; recommend best combination of materials and processes based on project, budget, and timeframe requirements
- Prepare quotes by studying 2D prints, CAD files, and other documentation
- Collaborate with production team to manage customer timeframes in conjunction with the production capacity across multiple business units
- Monitor manufacturing progress for critical deliveries, identify the need for issue escalation, recommend alternative solutions
- Develop, maintain, and accelerate strong business relationships with key decision makers and influencers within assigned accounts to grow business opportunities
- Arrange client visits on or off site as needed to present company services and capabilities and secure business opportunities
- Attend trade shows and industry events as needed to develop qualified leads and maintain relationships
- Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Design, or related field required
- 2+ years' experience in traditional and additive manufacturing required
- 1+ years' experience in project management within the manufacturing industry preferred
- 1+ years' experience in sales and service preferred
- Proficient knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing
- Proficient knowledge of industry materials, applications and technologies
- Basic knowledge in project management discipline and continuous improvement methodologies and tools
- Proficient relationship management skills, negotiation and presentation skills, and general business practices
- Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, CAD related software, and ERP systems
