Job Summary:

The incumbent will be providing clinical patient care for patients with infectious diseases at UW Health approved locations, and teaching medical students, residents and fellows within the context of their clinical practice. Primary focus will be at Meriter/UPH and East Madison UW Health locations. Opportunities for didactic teaching and participation in other educational activities in the division may also be available. University and community service will be expected as appropriate. If hired as Clinical Health Services (CHS) faculty, this position will also be expected to engage in active collaborative research.

Responsibilities:

As an academic clinician on the Clinical Health Services (CHS) track, responsibilities will involve research, teaching and patient care. Research time will be devoted to the general field of infectious disease and/or transplant infectious disease. Associate clinical and research leadership roles in transplant infectious disease are available.

Clinical responsibilities for the Clinical Health Services (CHS) track and Clinician Teacher (CT) track will include seeing patients with infectious diseases in the outpatient clinic and inpatient units at UW Health approved locations.

Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease Fellowship.

Candidates for Associate rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.

License/Certification:

Required
Must be eligible for a WI Medical License

Required
Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Infectious Disease.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Additional Information:

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles listed in this posting. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you choose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.
