The Clinical Services intern will support the activities of their designated department within the Clinical Services division. The internship will provide real world experience to explore career opportunities as a pharmacist in the managed care setting. Its goal is to develop future leaders in managed health care through activities that expose interns to the application of managed care pharmacy principles in benefit design, medication management, and other clinical services. Interns will gain an appreciation of how managed care pharmacy principles and services seek to maximize health care resources and patient care outcomes by working directly with Pharmacists and other team members. The clinical services intern will also support the department in development of appropriate clinical resources and recommendations related to our products and services. The internship assists to develop additional skills including effective communication, proficient project management, and delivering clinical services within a managed care environment.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Conduct research to provide data and insights to demonstrate clinical and economic value of high-investment pharmaceutical and medical products
  • Analyze research to demonstrate therapeutic value and impact
  • Attend clinical drug review committees to liaise formulary decisions to support departmental products
  • Maintain applicable drug lists with timely updates
  • Effectively communicate formulary changes that are appropriate to department products
  • Analyze relevant clinical trials, research, and relevant news to maintain value of products and services for customers
  • Work with clinical services team to complete contract templates
  • Participate in meetings and committees regarding goals, vision, and strategic plans
  • Create and maintain program reports and key performance indicators

What our team expects from you?

  • High School with 2nd year of pharmacy school completed.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology
  • Proven adequate mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees

What can you expect from Navitus?

  • Hours/Location: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, CST-Remote
  • Full time hours during the summer, up to 10 hours per week after the summer
