Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, FTE 1.0, 1st shift position. Monday - Friday, day hours as needed by lab. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay:

  • External hires may be eligible for up to a $4000.00 sign on bonus.

Help bridge the gap between a tissue sample being taken and a diagnosis being made by a pathologist.

We are seeking a Senior Histo Technician (HT or HTL)- Surgical Pathology to:

  • Provide daily direction to laboratory staff with regard to laboratory policies and procedures and serve as the dedicated resource for procedures, equipment and education.
  • Serve as a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, expert medical interpretation of specimens and innovation in laboratory technology
  • Develop and maintain teaching / training materials.
  • Coordinate work-flow throughout the Laboratory to ensure quality results are reported in a clinically useful time frame.

Education:

Minimum - Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include:

* Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science

Work Experience:

Minimum - Two years histology or relevant laboratory experience

Preferred - Three years histology or relevant laboratory experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

Preferred - Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent.
