Market- Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Market Human Resources Generalist (HRG) to partner and provide support to a large network of highly skilled physicians, specialty-focused facilities, including a specialty hospital, ambulatory surgery centers and multi-disciplinary physician clinics in the SE region of Wisconsin.

The Human Resource Generalist (HRG) performs professional human resources related duties to support assigned business leaders/teams and formulates partnerships across the Human Resource functions to gain/leverage knowledge and resources. This includes linking the objectives of the HR Organization with the needs of the business to deliver value added service, employee relations, performance management, engagement, change management and expert advice to the leadership and team members that reflect the objectives of the organization.

This role may also fulfill responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: communication, training, workforce planning, talent management/development, human resource core processes, HR coordination and administration, and HRIS system work.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partners with Market HR Manager, Surgery Partners (SP) HR COE's, employees and management to communicate and educate and implement on various human resource policies, procedures, programs, and standards; to enable an environment with strong talent, positive culture, performance focus and strong HR partnership with the business.
  • Engage with current and new leaders to ensure awareness and consistency.
  • HRG will support the deployment of core HR processes such as annual performance management process, annual merit process, annual benefits enrollment, short term incentive, etc.
  • Works closely with SP HR COE's to ensure strong local execution and communication of such initiatives with leadership and employees.
  • Support team members and leaders with the navigation of the Human Resources policies, procedures, tools, and resources
  • Plans, coordinates, and promotes local deployment of large organizational culture initiatives, as well as local initiatives. Analyzes trends including development, employee relations, engagement and exit interview data, making recommendations to the HR Manager and business leaders for continuous improvement. Provides support with team building and team member onboarding.
  • Seeks to understand business operations, goals, and overall direction of the organization and leaders. Leverages this knowledge and understanding to provide focused and effective guidance, coaching, processes, and programs that will advance the business
  • Consult with and provide leaders with coaching, support, guidance, and consultation in supporting employee related matters and strategic people decisions. Helps leadership understand the people's impact related to broader business decisions.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with corporate employee relations, compliance, and other functions as needed/required
  • Work that ensures we maintain high standards for legal and regulatory compliance, safety, and security
  • Demonstrates Surgery Partners and Code of Conduct as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • 4 years' experience leading HR with a strong focus on partnerships supporting the leadership team, employee relations, talent acquisition, customer service and service delivery
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification or SHRM Certified Profession (CP/SCP) preferred
  • Previous healthcare background preferred
  • Requires continuing education, which is directly related to the job specification
  • Demonstrated HR knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, prioritize & organize
  • Knowledge of employee investigation protocol
  • Knowledge of state, federal and accrediting body regulations and standards related to healthcare.
  • Strong communication skills- written & verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and model professionalism
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve; ability to understand and deal effectively with problems and opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational, and lifestyle backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to managing priorities/deadlines and be flexible with work assignments
  • Ability to partner with people effectively, patiently and respond professionally in all situations
  • Ability to understand the sensitive nature of HR and personal information and to maintain the highest of standards of confidentiality and respect of this information.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team, and assume responsibility for timely completing of assigned functions
  • Exercises sound judgement, seeking advice when appropriate
  • Skilled relationship management across multiple stakeholders
  • Must have strong computer skills that are required to perform essential job-related duties. Familiar with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Strong computer knowledge using HRIS system (ADP and Ultimate Software/UKG a plus)
