Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide individual, personal, career, and academic counseling to assigned students to include Milwaukee Public Schools' students who have matriculated to Marquette.
2. Monitor individual student progress of assigned EOP-SSS students.
3. Meet individually with assigned students to help set challenging performance goals and plan class schedules that will help them succeed academically
4. Assist in the planning and implementation of the EOP-SSS Summer Bridge Program.
5. Assist with office recruitment activities such as MU Discovery Days, EOP Open Houses, college fairs and other activities
6. Serve as liaison with other University offices and departments.
7. Maintain appropriate records of student contacts and service delivery into EOP's database.
8. Oversee and assist with EOP specific student programming and student groups
9. Assist in planning EOP-SSS programs in EOP Opening and Closing Meetings and MU TRIO Alumni Day.
10. Monitor and reconcile all program expenditures.
11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree required.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in counseling and direct service delivery to income eligible, first-generation, disabled, and/or underrepresented students, or with community groups that address issues affecting income eligible and minority student populations.
Ability to work in a work independently and to prioritize and execute multiple tasks consistent with assigned timeline.
Able to work in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal with diverse constituencies.
Strong computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Access), and web-based and social media applications.
Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Expressed commitment to and support of project objectives.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master's degree in counseling, guidance, social work, education, or related field preferred.

Personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting students in the project's target population.

Work experience or background in a higher education environment.
