Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promoting dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
  • Promoting dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and fluoride and sealant application, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
  • Becoming familiar with our practice's dental technology, including dental lasers, and using them to provide efficient treatment.
  • Completing thorough assessments of the patient's teeth, bone and periodontal tissues, and documenting any abnormalities or suspected conditions.
  • Customizing care to meet patient's oral health needs.
  • Educating patients on good oral hygiene and plaque control techniques, providing postoperative instructions, and answering questions and requests.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for patients by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Preparing patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patients.
  • Maintaining instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing and selecting instruments.
  • Detecting disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies.
  • Helping dentists manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply, and directory of emergency numbers.
  • Documenting dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories and charting these in patient records.
  • Maintaining patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintaining dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserving dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Shift:

Mon: 7-4pm

Tue: 7-4pm

Wed: 7-4pm

Thu: 7-4pm

Requirements:

  • Current RDH licensure in the state of Wisconsin, or new graduate awaiting
  • Current CPR certification
