Position Description:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. This Neurology Department is fortunate to have several fellowship trained Neurologists specializing in stroke and both neurointensive and neurointerventional care, who can provide state-of-the-art treatments. The clinical expertise assembled in the Department of Neurology had resulted in JCAHO certification of Froedtert Hospital as the first Primary Stroke Center in Wisconsin in 2004. The Ideal Candidate will have a passion for working with medically complex patients and bring prior experience as an APP/RN working with patients of the Neurological services, critical care or other high acuity hospital work who wants to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Neurology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support both the Neuro ICU and Neurohospitalist Inpatient Services located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital.

Position Requirements:
Schedule: Flexible schedule; 12 shifts per 28-day block. 12-13 hours in duration divided amongst Neuro ICU and Neurohospitalist services. Four nights per 28-day block, remainder of shifts are days split between Neuro ICU and Neurohospitalist services.Shifts additionally include 1 weekend per block and holidays on rotation. Alternative FTE and schedule positions available upon further discussion. *no experience required - open to training newer providers Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing Minimum Requirements: *or eligible Advanced Practice Nurse Physician Assistant NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
Preferred Experience: Preference for experience in Neurology or Critical Care in an inpatient setting.
Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies
Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
Wisconsin RN License Certification by NCCPA
Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, DEA
