Position Summary:

The Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a full-time Teaching Academic Staff (Lecturer) position in Environmental Engineering for the 2024/2025 school year. The position may continue for additional years. The position is well suited for MS graduates or recent doctoral graduates who would like to develop their teaching skills and establish a record of experience as an instructor. UW-Platteville offers a New Instructor Learning Community and will provide mentorship. UW-Platteville is proud to be a student-focused and teaching school. This position is year long with the intent for continued services as our programs continues to grow and thrive. Salary for this position begins at $67,000 and is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver undergraduate civil and environmental engineering courses and associated labs in a student-centered learning environment.
  • Typical teaching load will be approximately 15 contact hours per week, including laboratory sessions.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or closely related field.
  • Ability to teach introductory environmental engineering courses.
  • Ability to teach other introductory courses and participate in advising the senior design students.
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate education and present evidence of, or aptitude for, excellent teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to or experience with diverse populations.
