Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position is remote however; individuals will be required to work in office a couple times/month. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Category Account Specialist to:

  • Serve as the system liaison for Meriter, communicating Meriter contracting requirements to the Sourcing and Contracting team to streamline Contracts systemwide.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on expiring contracts, work closely with department leadership, the Procurement team, the Value Analysis team and UW Health stakeholders to avoid interruption in patient care, medical center operations and/or price continuity.
  • Produce, analyze and summarize contract data to support negotiation and Value Analysis strategies, integrate data from systems administration, Accounts Payable and Supply Chain Informatics teams as needed.

Education:

Minimum - Associates degree in business management or related field

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Legal Assistant/Paralegal or related field

Work Experience:

Minimum -

  • Two (2) years contract management, purchasing, commodities, supply chain or another relevant field
  • Knowledge of contracts and procure-to-pay process

Preferred -

  • Five (5) years or more experience in contract management, purchasing, commodities, supply chain or another relevant field
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud or other ERP systems
  • Health care supply chain knowledge

Licenses and Certifications:

Preferred - CMRP- Certified Materials & Resource Professional
