Job Description

FTE 100%, 40 hours per week. Day shift. Monday - Friday, 9:30AM - 6:00PM. You may be eligible for up to a $4,000.00 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE). On- call required. On-call typically 2-4 nights and 1 weekend per month, plus 2 holidays per year. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will work at 448 Science Drive in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Medical Technologist (Clinical Lab Scientist, Histocompatibility Technologist, Histocompatibility Specialist) to:

  • Join as a respected member of the transplant team, performing recipient/donor compatibility tests to support organ donation.
  • Receive thorough on on-the-job HLA teaching and labwork training.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new assays and analyzers to meet the needs of an ever-evolving science.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.

Education:

Minimum -

Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology. OR Bachelor's degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent, that includes either:

* 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR

* 24 semester hours - 6 chemistry, 6 biology and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology in any combination

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS). Master's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related science or healthcare field.

Work Experience:

Preferred - One year healthcare or lab related work experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Preferred - Certification (Medical Lab Science, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency.
