OVERVIEW

The General Mills Milwaukee Plant manufactures and distributes snacks for the North American Retail and C&F Business segments. The site's product portfolio includes Chex Mix, Muddy Buddies, Bugles, and Gardetto's. Located 6 miles south of downtown Milwaukee, the site was built in 1968 and owned by the Gardetto family until it was acquired by General Mills in 1999. Today, the plant employs 240 employees working together on our Zero Loss Culture journey.

The Manufacutring Supervisor will provide manufacturing leadership to deliver a world-class operation. Lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork. Function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations and production requirements. You will play an integral role as a front-line leader supporting our Milwaukee plant.

This role with either work 12 hour nights (7pm-7am on a 2-2-3 schedule) OR a flex shift schedule (2nd and 3rd shift) with some weekends, therefore, shift is subject to change based on business needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Educate, develop and motivate a manufacturing work group to achieve required production results, improving individual technical skills and enabling collaboration across boundaries
  • Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards for quality, sanitation, and safety
  • Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in creative solutions to issues
  • Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant objectives on a day-to-day basis
  • Facilitate, coach, counsel, and guide the manufacturing work group to ensure that they have the ability to deliver results year over year through the use of continuous improvement tools and strategies
  • Function as a technical resource in areas of system operations and product requirements
  • Facilitate the effective interchange of information between work groups, cross-functional resources, and other members of the plant and corporate teams
  • Partner closely with plant Line Teams to drive out losses and develop and engage team members in foundational systems
  • Lead projects for the plant including Human Safety, Food Safety, and Improvement-plan focused initiatives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
  • Willingness to work weekends or alternative shifts as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of prior experience as a Team Leader (Operations, Maintenance, or Logistics) or related experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
  • Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
  • Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a complex environment
  • Mature approach to challenging situations and environments
  • Experience successfully leading projects or other large improvement plan initiatives is preferred
  • Willing to take risks in decision-making and implementation of improvements
  • Desire and ability to lead change in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, electronic, listening and feedback communications
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change
  • Ability to motivate team members and to help them develop pride and ownership

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $67300.00 - $101200.00 / Annually. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
