Job Description

Pay Range: $30.30 - $45.45/hour

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops,managesandevaluateseducationalactivitiestomeetand/or exceed mandatory requirements by regulatoryagencies
  • Act as the clinical educator to support all providers, team members, students, and patients (on-site/virtual)
  • Educate patients/support persons during new or return patient appointments on the sleep disorders and consequences of untreated sleep disorders, and testing and treatments
  • Communicate test results and next steps/schedule appts
  • Educate patients during compliance follow up appts, reviews compliance and address any issues that patient might be having and implement solutions
  • Ensure all paperwork is in order for provider clinics, answer clinical patient calls/portal/Epic messages
  • Performs education/setup and scoring of HSTs (home sleep tests)
  • Coordinate care with Advocate @ Home and other DME companies/ vendors
  • Order/receive supplies for clinical patient needs
  • As needed if clinic not in session/downtime between patients, perform duties of RPSGT, or any other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

License/Registration/Certification:

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providerscertification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA),

AND

Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) registration issued by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), or

Registered Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialty (RRT-SDS) certification issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

AND

Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) or meet the requirements to sit for the CCSH exam and pass within 90 days of hire date.

Issued by (Governing Body): BPRT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists)

Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred OR Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited/approved program.

Field of Study (if applicable): Related

Years of Experience: 2 years of exp

Describe Type Experience: RPSGT with at least 2 years of experience working in sleep/sleep related area.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must meet the AASM standard of 85% proficient in scoring with interscorer reliability
  • Proficient at sleep study scoring.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to develop relationships with patients, physicians and staff both inter and intra-departmentally.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Stronginterpersonal,clinical, facilitating,problem-solving, educationandcommunication skillswhichiscriticaltothe "expert"roleofthisposition, maintainingtheStandardof Practiceandinteractionwith hospitalmanagementstaff.
  • Mustbeabletosupportand workwithinamultidisciplinary andoperationalimprovement teamapproachenvironment whichincorporatesteam buildingskillsaswellaschange managementskills.
  • Mustbeabletoworkwithina directlineanddottedline reportingorganizational structurewhichincorporates motivationalandconsensus buildingskills
  • Must drive between sites therefore will be exposed to road hazards
  • Operates all equipment essential to performing the job..
  • Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, and kneel throughout workday.

Must be able to:

  • lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
    lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
    carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to:
    push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
    perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
