Job Description

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville seeks a full-time, 9-month Lecturer of Accounting within the School of Business. This position is physically located on the Platteville campus (i.e. non-remote) and will primarily teach introductory and advanced undergraduate accounting courses. The ability to teach in the finance area is a plus. The desired start date is August 2024. The position entails a teaching load of five classes per Fall and Spring semesters that may include a combination of on-campus courses and online courses. Winterim and Summer teaching may be available for additional compensation.

Teaching

  • Teach five courses per semester in the fall and spring terms. Potential courses include:
    • Cost and Advanced Cost Accounting
    • Intermediate Accounting II
    • Financial and Managerial Accounting
    • Ability to teach is a plus.
  • Courses taught may include a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses as well as across multiple modalities such as in-person, online, or hybrid.

Service

  • Engage in service to the university and the business school through formal and ad hoc committees.

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Master's degree in Business with an Accounting focus
  • CPA or CMA credential
  • At least three years of professional accounting work experience
