Job Description

To assume the responsibility and obligation of establishing and maintaining an athletic training program, in all sports with assigned schools. Provides athletic injury management and other health services for all athletes, and assists coaches with the design and implementation of injury prevention programs. Refers athletes to appropriate health care professional following injury. Participates in a multidisciplinary team to maintain the Sports Medicine Program within the Orthopedic Specialty Services. Expect to travel and transport equipment.

The position also includes functioning as a physician extender within the Orthopedic/Podiatry Specialty Services when necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with degree in Athletic Training
  • Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer by the State of Wisconsin
  • Board Certification
  • Registered Orthopedic Technologist preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of sports
  • Current Health Care Providers CPR certification.
  • Current Membership with or willingness to join National Athletic Training Association (NATA)
  • Strong medical terminology
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal
  • Knowledge of EPIC EHR or ability to be proficient within four weeks of m)Competency with relevant medications and injection procedures.

Shift Time: 8-, 12- hour shifts
