Job Description

About the Role:

As a CAD Designer you will work on a variety of design executions. Activities include, but are not limited to, using CAD equipment to prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assemblies sketches, and diagrams. This position works in collaboration with functional groups, particularly Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Create models and drawings for product engineering designs
  • Develop CAD pictorial renderings of products, features and components for design reviews, customer reviews, and marketing and sales presentations
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing and technical issues for components, equipment, and products
  • Develop documents related to design package
  • Produce drawings, applying the appropriate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances as required
  • Resolve complex design problems and notify engineering staff and/or machine shop of issues
  • Apply Wabash National Best Practices for CAD and PLM system interaction
  • Review standard models and drawings before release for usability and coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with SolidWorks CAD and Autodesk PLM system
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Training in drafting practices and ANSI standards
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Understanding of GD&T and AutoCAD software is a plus
  • SAP experience and CSWA certification is beneficial
