Through leadership by example, provide instruction, administer authentic assessments, and foster an active learning environment that is focused on student foundational competence, success, retention, and completion.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

  1. Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
  2. Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
  3. Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.
  4. Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
  5. Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
  6. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Participate as a productive member of a team.
  8. Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
  9. Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  10. Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.
Minimum Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in technical knowledge and skills related to the Industrial Maintenance field.
  • A broad knowledge base of several different skill areas used in industry is required, which should include fluid power, electrical and electronics, automated systems, rigging, mechanical power transmission, machine alignment and installation, preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and facilities operations.
  • Ability to perform physical aspects of maintenance and repair (lifting, climbing, kneeling, squatting, etc.)

Required Education & Experience:

  1. Technical diploma, Apprenticeship, and/or Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or Electro-Mechanical studies, or completion of a registered apprenticeship in a related occupation.
  2. Seven years of experience within the industrial maintenance field.
Supplemental Information

The Instructor - Mechanical Systems Tech/Industrial Maintenance position is part of the Architecture, Automation, and Apprenticeships department in the School of Applied Technologies, and will report to the Associate Dean.

There is one vacancy available to start Fall of 2024. This full-time instructor position will teach on a flexible year-round calendar. Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends.

Salary is commensurate of experience and is listed to the midpoint of the range on the 23/24 table as of 07/01/2023.
