The Legend of Murphey McGillycuddy and the Passing of his Gilly Stone

Murphy "Gilly" McGillycuddy was most commonly known for his creation of the most excellent bars and grills and for being the second most interesting man in the world. Murphy (b. 1792-1915) credited his longevity and jovial outlook on life to his lucky rock. On his death bed, Murphy said, "Relations,Whiskey, Bacon, Cold Beer... and this Stone are the keys to life."

After his passing, employees at the beloved McGillycuddy's Bar & Grill began to notice moments of good fortune shortly after brushing up against Murphy's beautiful stone.

One fine spring day an employee, Betty O' Booby, McGillycuddy's favorite waitress, bent over and kissed the stone for good luck before entering into a "competition." She won the "competition" and used the prize money to open an extremely successful chain of restaurants named "Booby's." Ever since, loyal customers and employees kiss the Gilly Stone day or night to be bestowed with a taste of good fortune.
