Starting with one, 100-seat restaurant back in 1978, Heart of America has evolved into one of the Midwest’s premier design, construction, and management company with a 33 year history of developing award-winning properties.

Heart of America’s portfolio consists of 31 owned and operated restaurants and hotels, 150,000 square feet of office space, and 1.4 million square feet of retail and hospitality. Currently we are located in ten metropolitan areas across six Midwestern states.

A few of the brands we have developed and operate are Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, the Machine Shed Restaurant, Wildwood Lodge, and Thunder Bay. We pride ourselves in building long-lasting properties that bring value to the consumer and to the community in which we build.
