Created as a mission project in 1989, Carpenter's Shop Christian Daycare has been a vital part of the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay and its community. The program is State licensed. Carpenter's Shop is run by a volunteer Parent Board of Directors. Several of the Board members are Church members. Carpenter's Shop is proud of its rich family tradition that has been enjoyed by Church members and families throughout the surrounding community for over a decade.

Due to excellent programs and outstanding teachers, Carpenter's Shop enjoys near or at capacity enrollment each year. Fifteen highly qualified, full time teachers, each with college degrees in early childhood education or related fields, are dedicated to the children and have added to Carpenter's Shop's outstanding reputation in the community. These teachers live the mission statement daily which seeks to provide an environment that will enrich the physical, cognitive, social, emotional and educational growth of the individual child; also develop spiritual growth through the incorporation of Christian values and the supplementation of ethics and moral taught at home. This is facilitated in a safe, healthy, Christian environment through the cooperation of both teachers and parents.

Carpenter's Shop is open year round from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except for the major holidays. Carpenter's Shop is a great place for people to work in who are dedicated to children.
