Company Overview
History

In 1944, persons of Polish origin thought about founding a home for the elderly, especially for their relatives when they could not care for because of their professional responsibility. They invited the Dominican Sisters who were working in Justice, Ill. near Chicago. The sisters agreed to join the project of operating a home. On February 11, 1945, the home was dedicated and twelve residents, both women and men, together with four sisters moved into a purchased home on South Muskego Avenue in Milwaukee. Because of the demand for long-term care, in 1960 the home was expanded. Since the expansion, at any given time 50 residents are able to receive care. The name of the nursing home, St. Ann Rest Home, was chosen because of Ann Augustowski’s wish, the main benefactor. From the origin of the existence, St. Ann Rest Home had the desire to call this facility a “home” and to do as much as possible to create a really home-like atmosphere.
