The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is the second largest school district in Milwaukee County and the twelfth largest in the state of Wisconsin. WAWM Schools serve over 9,700 students in three High Schools, four Intermediate Schools, and eleven Elementary Schools.
Our district is home to two National Blue Ribbon schools and a third nomination. Over the past six years, WAWM Schools have been honored as Wisconsin Schools of Recognition 33 times for their outstanding academic achievement.
Our Next Generation Learning Communities (NxGLC) have hosted visitors from local and regional school districts. Our district has been the topic of presentations and highlighted in research at the State and National level as a model of Next Generation Learning.
