ABOUT SOUTH MILWAUKEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center (SMPAC) is a professionally-managed performing arts theatre founded in 2004. SMPAC presents an annual Performing Arts Series featuring local and internationally-touring artists in music, dance, theatre, comedy and more. Located on the South Milwaukee 6-12 campus, it serves the students of the city of South Milwaukee and provides professional services for more than 100 school, rental and other performing arts events annually. 

SMPAC blends public education with professional performing arts to create a vibrant learning environment. Our patrons, staff, volunteers, advisory board and fundraising cabinet share an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the arts. SMPAC has become an exceptional organization for people of all ages and aesthetics who share a love of the performing arts.

Past Performing Arts Series artists include: Robert Glasper, Vienna Boys Choir, Alpin Hong, Cirque Le Masque, Imago Theatre, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Avner Eisenberg, Sybarite5, ACME, Baby Wants Candy, Calmus, Milwaukee Ballet II, Florentine Opera, Danceworks, Still Waters Collective, Skai Academy of the Performing Arts and the Missoula Children’s Theatre. As a rental venue, SMPAC has hosted artists such as George Winston, Lindsey Buckingham, Arlo Guthrie, Jesse Cook, Ruthie Foster, Tommy Emmanuel, John Hiatt, Ian Hunter, Joe Lovano, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and more. 

SMPAC features a 786-seat theatre, classroom-sized orchestra pit, expansive stage, exceptional lighting and sound systems, a 23-line set rigging system, projector and video screen, plus dressing rooms and adjacent areas for rental use. For more information about South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center, visit southmilwaukeepac.org. Performances are supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
