The School District of Menomonee Falls is well known for its comprehensive and quality educational program, graduating students with excellent preparation for advanced learning and ready to begin adult life with an appreciation for their citizenship. While the core curriculum goals stress competence in language, communication skills and mathematics, ample opportunity is presented for explorations into all other disciplines including the fine arts. Elementary schools focus on teaching basic skills, augmented by art, music, physical education, and library skill development. North Middle School begins the process of transition from elementary grades to high school by employing the house concept. Each house utilizes a team of teachers who provide instruction in language arts, science, social studies, and math. Electives are introduced and students choose from such subjects as music, technology education and family and consumer education to name a few. In the seventh grade, foreign languages (Spanish, German, and Japanese) are introduced. While North Middle School emphasizes high academic skills, students are encouraged to involve themselves in curriculum opportunities beyond the core requirements. Students with exceptional math skills have advance course work. The school offers an active student council, athletics for boys and girls, and several musical organizations. The students at Menomonee Falls High School choose from nearly 200 different study courses both academic and career oriented. The school has a strong academic program, with emphasis on science, math, social studies, and English. More than 90% of graduating seniors go on to some form of higher education, including nearby Waukesha County Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha. Continuing the pattern established in the middle school, Menomonee Falls High offers language study in German, Spanish and Japanese. The school offers accelerated and remedial programs aimed at satisfying the needs of gifted and talented students. Its tech prep program is equally impressive, incorporating career planning conferences at the sophomore level and including 18 different technical career study courses. Augmenting these programs are 16 business-related courses and 13 family and consumer education courses. Dozens of extracurricular activities are available and the school fields a full roster of competitive boys' and girls' sports teams.
