The University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention (UW-CTRI) holds a unique place in tobacco control. The Center combines ground-breaking research in smoking cessation with practical application. This has resulted in the UW-CTRI achieving a national reputation for expertise in the study and treatment of tobacco use and dependence. Through its federal and foundation grants and its clinical trials, the Center has brought more than $30.4 million into the state of Wisconsin from outside sources. UW-CTRI also provides services to thousands of Wisconsin residents through its outreach program and its Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line, which provides cessation service to anyone anywhere in Wisconsin.
