The mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is to share God's love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need believing that "In Christ's Love, Everyone Is Someone".

Who We Are:

The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is a Christian social ministry organization that seeks to share God's love in lively community settings and through services that support people in their own homes. In more than 230 locations around the country, Good Samaritan offers Christian Communities of Care in which seniors find many opportunities for a meaningful and full life. There are a host of housing options and services available, from senior living and assisted living to skilled nursing with rehabilitation and long-term care to home care.

The Good Samaritan Society’s goal for serving each resident or client is captured by its motto, "In Christ's Love, Everyone Is Someone."

The staff members at each Good Samaritan center form an integral part of these Christian communities. Whatever their job is, staff members are invited and trained to weave compassion and hospitality into their daily tasks. The loving relationships that grow between residents and staff help make real in each life a sense of God's presence and peace.

The Lodi Good Samaritan Center includes independent living apartments and a skilled nursing facility.

Hallmark Values and related Core Principles:

Good Samaritan has four Hallmark Values which suggest its organizational priorities. Good Samaritan is Christ-centered, Resident-centered, Staff-centered, and Community centered.

The four related Core Principles are:

* Compassion - All relationships within Good Samaritan flow from an encounter with and response to God's love in Christ.

* Hospitality - Every resident finds the fullest possible life in a safe, secure and loving home.

* Vocation - All staff members are called to care in a Christian community that offers them respect, support and opportunities to grow.

* Service - The Good Samaritan Community reaches out to meet the needs of the wider community around it while inviting local residents to find meaning and hope by working in or volunteering at a Good Samaritan Community.
