Formed in 1995 as an offshoot of NASA research, Applied Spectrometry Associates (ASA) uses advanced optics, spectrometry, electronics, software and chemistry to provide real-time analysis of water for drinking, industrial and waste treatment facilities. Unattended and self-maintaining, ASA's equipment, marketed under the ChemScan brand name, measures the level of nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, phosphorous, chlorine, chloramines and other chemicals, allowing plants to implement optimized control algorithms and adhere to mandated requirements.
