Apel Associates, Inc. started in the mind of our founder, Kari A. Apel, back in the early 1970s when she was born. Kari grew up on a dairy and crop farm in Southern Wisconsin where her father and mother began their entrepreneurship, also in the early 1970s. Seeing her parents’ dedication, core values and successes set forth a path to Apel Associates, Inc. as it exists today.

Kari's mid-life decision to start her own small public accounting firm rather than to pursue a promising career with an aggressive national public accounting firm epitomizes the company’s philosophy – we highly value the close personal relationships we develop through integrity, honesty, fairness, caring and trust.

Our firm was organized to provide exemplary financial, tax, accounting and consulting services to small businesses and individuals throughout the United States. We are leaders in providing solutions to you, our clients.

Through our participation in technical conferences related to specific industries, state and national associations, our membership in the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), WICPA (Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and NATP (National Association of Tax Professionals), and our commitment to you, our clients, in assisting with complex business matters, we believe our experience and outstanding service positions us to uniquely respond to your needs.

Firm's Philosophy

Kari and her firm, Apel Associates, Inc., Wrensch Apel Associates, LLC, and Apel CPAs & Consultants, LLC, pass along the same standards to each and every person they encounter. The firm's philosophies center around treating everyone like family. This is proven in Kari's interactions with her clients. For example, Kari has discussed tax planning with one of her clients while in their John Deere tractor hauling loads during the busy fall harvest. On another occasion she helped clients move to a different home. She even helped a client pick out their new kitchen paint color!

Kari recognizes that it is her and her firm's responsibility to learn and understand each client's specific goals and needs.
