Company Overview
Defined by Architecture, Loved for Location

The term “Art Deco” evokes images of eclectic, sophisticated design defined by rich colors, bold geometric shapes and beautiful ornamentation. That is The Plaza Hotel. Yet it’s also correct to say we are an easy, approachable property with modern amenities to please today’s travelers. We have two floors of guest rooms and two floors of residences above those. There’s a bustling vintage café, a soon to be completed Walnut Room for small gatherings, and a dedicated spa treatment room.

Location

We’re in a residential nook on the city’s Lower East Side, with Lake Michigan beaches, lakefront festivals, Milwaukee’s expansive trail system, one-of-a-kind boutiques and eateries, Cathedral Square Park, sports arenas, universities, the Milwaukee Art Museum and the city’s theater and gallery district all wonderfully walk-able from the front door. In fact, we encourage guests to experience the city instead of staying in – think of it as a vast fitness center just waiting to be explored.

The Arts

We’ve been home to the Milwaukee Repertory Theater for more than 60 years and our charitable giving tends towards the arts.

Our Staff

We’d be remiss if didn’t share something of our staff. They are incredibly proud of this historic Milwaukee hotel and take great care in making certain rooms are neat and tidy. They also love Milwaukee and really do want guests to have a memorable experience, so don’t be shy about asking for recommendations on local boutiques, the best running routes, the latest showings at art galleries, even theater tickets.

Of note: Not unlike historic European hotels, we are a “walk-up.” Should you need assistance with your bags to the second floor, we are at your service. Or, if you prefer, ask for a guest room on the first floor.
